The Multimode (MM)/Single-mode (SM) Quad and Multimode modules are full featured optical time domain reflectometers (OTDRs) for the T-BERD/MTS-4000 platform. The Quad OTDR is a powerful certification tool that gives a complete picture of single-mode and multimode fiber plants. Its user-friendly interface makes every technician a fiber expert with port quality check, automatic settings, loss-limit thresholds per event and fiber link, automatic event analysis, and results management.
In addition, the Quad integrates a continuous wave (CW) light source and power meter to measure the optical power level and insertion loss, for both single-mode and multimode fibers. Part of the modular T-BERD/MTS-4000 platform, the Quad provides users with unmatched scalability, reduces training time, and adds testing capabilities. Here is a list of some of the testing capability added: Ethernet/IP physical media testing, copper cable certification, WiFi testing, VoIP emulation, IP video testing, visual fault location, and fiber connector inspection with automatic Pass/Fail analysis based on IEC standards.
