The 802.16 OFDMA (Mobile WiMAX™) measurement application is one of more than 25 measurement applications in the Keysight X-Series, an evolutionary approach to signal analysis that spans instrumentation, measurements, and software. Transforming the X-Series signal analyzers into standards-based transmitter testers, the application provides fast one-button RF conformance measurements to help you design, evaluate, and manufacture your OFDMA base station and mobile station devices. The measurement offers standard-based pass/fail testing of IEEE 802.16-2005 compliant signals, SCPI programmability, familiar front panel local operation, and superior measurement speed.
RF Transmitter Measurements:
- View comprehensive physical layer characteristics with modulation quality results such as: RCE (EVM), spectral flatness, preamble power, and PCINR
- Constellation, symbol error traces, and zone definition map color-coded by data burst simplify design verification and troubleshooting
- Automatic DL-MAP/UL-MAP detection and decoding minimize user setup time and accelerate time to insight
- Accurate power results with time-gated measurements such ACP, channel power, and SEM
Signal Analysis:
- 802.16 OFDMA measurement per IEEE 802.16 2005 standard
- Base station and mobile station RF transmitter measurements; analog baseband measurements with PXA BBIQ or MXA BBIQ hardware
- One-button, standard-based measurements including time gated power measurements (channel power, ACP, and SEM) with pass/fail tests
- Runs inside PXA, MXA, and EXA signal analyzers and VXT PXIe vector transceivers
Measurements:
- RCE (EVM), RSSI, preamble PCINR, subcarrier flatness, IQ metrics
- Single input analysis of matrix A and pilot-based analysis of matrix B (MIMO) signals
- Time-gated power measurements: SEM, ACP, channel power, spurious emissions
- Delivers relative constellation error (RCE) in multiple levels (composite, pilot, data burst, un-modulated, and preamble)
Performance (Hardware Dependent):
- RCE (EVM) floor: up to –54 dB (nominal)
- Power accuracy: up to ±0.19 dB
- Analysis bandwidth: PXA, MXA, VXT up to 160 MHz; EXA up to 40 MHz
