Electro Rent, a global provider of test and measurement equipment and services, today announced that it has achieved Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC) 2.0 Level 2 certification.
Conducted by an accredited CMMC Third-Party Assessor Organization in coordination with the Defense Industrial Base Cybersecurity Assessment Center (DIBCAC), the evaluation measured Electro Rent’s implementation of the NIST SP 800-171 security controls required under DFARS 252.204-7012 and related clauses.
The assessment identified no findings and a perfect score of 110 in the Supplier Performance Risk System (SPRS) and confirmed full implementation of the required 110 NIST SP 800-171 controls. This certification gives Electro Rent’s Aerospace and Defense customers added confidence that sensitive program data and assets are protected to Department of Defense standards.

<h2>Company divests ancillary division focused on power and infrastructure markets</h2>
LOS ANGELES (February 19, 2025) – Platinum Equity portfolio company Electro Rent today announced the signing of a definitive agreement to sell its intellirent division to Sandbrook Capital.&nbsp;
intellirent provides electrical test and measurement (“T&amp;M”) equipment primarily serving the power generation and distribution, data center and renewable energy industries.&nbsp;
Electro Rent, which has owned intellirent since 2018, expressed confidence in the company’s continued growth under new ownership.&nbsp;
“The intellirent segment has grown significantly under our ownership and established itself as a leader in the power and electrical testing equipment rental market across a range of testing environments and industries,” said Mike Clark, Chief Executive Officer at Electro Rent.&nbsp;
Clark said he expects a seamless transition.&nbsp;
“The business is a non-core North American division that mostly operates independently and primarily serves different customers and end users than Electro Rent’s other business segments,” explained Clark. “It’s well-built to operate as a standalone enterprise led by a dedicated management team under the leadership of Neil McCaw.”&nbsp;
The transaction is expected to close in the first quarter of 2025.&nbsp;
“We believe this sale allows us to unlock the value of intellirent while Electro Rent focuses on further growth and investment in its core business,” said Platinum Equity Co-President Louis Samson and Platinum Equity Managing Director David Glatt in a joint statement. “We will continue working with Mike and the management team to maximize the company’s potential.”&nbsp;

Electro Rent Announces Distribution Agreement with VIAVI Solutions

West Hills, CA – October 25, 2023 - Electro Rent, the leader in test and measurement equipment rental solutions and services, today announced a strategic distribution agreement with AFL, an international manufacturer of fiber optic cable, connectivity, and accessories. This agreement enhances the existing relationship between AFL and Electro Rent by adding the ability for Electro Rent to offer splicers and related products for sale in North America to complement the rental services Electro Rent already provides. This new distribution agreement with AFL allows us to better serve our customers by providing quality equipment to meet our customer’s test and measurement requirements,” said Stijn Sallaerts, Vice President of Product Group for Electro Rent.
