RF & Microwave PowerNoise & OtherRF Power Meters10GHz <= 20GHzThe Bird Model 4431 is a portable, analog wattmeter based on the trusted Model 43—enhanced with an integrated RF signal sampling port. It provides average power measurement using Bird’s interchangeable plug-in elements, while also offering a low-power sampled output via a BNC connector.
This lets technicians monitor frequency, modulation, or harmonics using external equipment without disturbing the signal path. Ideal for lab work, tuning, and system verification.
The Model 4431 uses a directional coupler and analog meter movement to measure average forward or reflected power.
In addition, an internal RF probe taps the signal and routes a low-power sample to a BNC connector on the right side of the meter. The technician can adjust output level using the front-mounted control knob, making it easy to connect to and protect external test equipment.
| BENEFITS | |
| What is the RF sample port on the 4431 used for | The RF sample port provides a low-power, real-time signal output that can be connected to test equipment such as frequency counters, spectrum analyzers, or oscilloscopes—without disrupting the signal being measured. |
| Can I adjust the strength of the sampled signal | Yes. The 4431 includes a front-panel control knob that allows you to adjust the sample output level to safely match your test equipment’s input range. |
| Does the 4431 measure RF power like the Model 43 | Yes. The 4431 uses the same directional coupler and analog meter movement as the Model 43, providing accurate average forward and reflected power readings with Bird plug-in elements. |
