Regenerative power supplies offer the capability to source and sink current from devices and systems. They have the unique ability to return the sink current directly back to the mains grid. This makes regenerative supplies very green and environmentally friendly. Regenerative units can also require less cooling as energy is returned to the grid instead of being converting to  heat.
