Electro Rent Receives Environmental Impact Award from Los Angeles Department of Water and Power

West Hills, CA

Electro Rent, a global leader in test and technology solutions and services, has been recognized by Los Angeles Department of Water and Power (LADWP) for Environmental Leadership.

Each year, LADWP recognizes local business customers that have lowered their water and energy usage compared to the prior year. Doing so demonstrates that the company receiving the award has improved their operational efficiency to use less energy.

LADWP General Manager and Chief Engineer Martin L. Adams commented, “We greatly value [our customers’] business sense, savings achievements, and forward-looking vision as we move together towards a greener, cleaner and better Los Angeles.”

The awards were given to 21 commercial customers in four categories, and within each category there are Leadership and Impact Awards. Electro Rent received the Impact Award for Energy Efficiency with 35.5% saved.

Omar Ahsan, Senior Vice President of Global Operations for Electro Rent stated, “We are proud to receive this award, which is a reflection of the work we have done with our partner, Titanium Power, to improve lighting for our workforce, lower overall power consumption, and reduce utility expenditures. Our employees appreciate the improved lighting conditions and lower heat levels that came from replacing aging fluorescents with LEDs. We are now looking at additional ways that we can reduce our energy consumption, going forward.”
